What is a Full Stack Developer?

A full stack developer works on both sides of a product. You might design a database table in the morning, write the API that reads from it, then build the screen that displays it. This is common at startups and small teams, where owning a whole feature is faster than passing it between specialists. The trade-off is breadth: you cover more ground, so you go less deep than someone focused on one side.
